Japan and Asian countries, particularly ASEAN nations, face a common challenge of dependence on fossil fuels such as coal and natural gas. In order to achieve a decarbonized society, the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) is advancing initiatives such as AZEC, JCM, and SERA to collaborate with these countries. In this seminar, young officials from METI will present Japan's initiatives, while young officials from Asian countries will share and discuss the current situation and efforts in their respective nations. The goal is to encourage the next generation of young officials to view climate change policy as a matter of their own and to strengthen cooperation and initiatives as a region in Asia.
