This seminar will share the latest information on a Japanese model case where various stakeholders collaborate, centered on media, for awareness-raising activities and environmental education aimed at halting the climate crisis. NHK Enterprises will report on its collaboration with commercial broadcasters in the UN “Promise of 1.5°C ” campaign, as well as stakeholder partnerships with the Aeon Environmental Foundation, J. League, MOEJ, the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, and the UN in the “Future Kid Takara” project - an educational resource using animation to teach about climate change. Additionally, representatives will report on advanced practices that could serve as global models, such as the Japan-Brazil collaborative rainforest conservation activities in the Amazon led by Keio University, and the marine conservation awareness activities at the Blue Ocean Dome exhibition by NPO Zeri Japan at the Osaka-Kansai Expo 2025. Participants will discuss what media and citizens can do to halt the climate crisis, aspiring after hints for the future.
