Abstract

"The NIKKEI GX Conference" is a project operated by Nikkei Inc. It evolved from the “NIKKEI Decarbonization Project,” which ran for four years since fiscal year 2021, and was newly launched in fiscal year 2025. Participating companies, expert committee members, and government officials have been deepening discussions through subcommittees and symposiums, and disseminating the outcomes globally via media outlets such as the Nikkei and the Financial Times. This seminar will introduce initiatives by NIKKEI GX Conference participating companies looking beyond 2030, considering the international landscape surrounding decarbonization. It will also explore the role Japan should play globally to accelerate the dual goals of decarbonization and economic activity.
