The role of cities in addressing climate changes is increasingly critical to achieving the 1.5°C goal. In February 2023, MOEJ in collaboration with JICA, launched the Clean Cities Partnership Program (C2P2) to tackle the complex challenges faced by cities worldwide. With participation from Japanese local governments, private companies, financial institutions, and others, as well as collaboration with Multilateral Development Banks (MDBs), this program will offer comprehensive and synergistic supports for urban agenda, including climate changes, environmental pollution, the circular economy, and nature-positive initiatives in partner cities. This seminar presents a valuable opportunity to share the Japanese initiatives from MOEJ and JICA, as well as examples of MOEJ's City-to-City Collaboration Programs for Zero Carbon Society (C3P) presented by mayors, private sector representatives, and others.
