Abstract

To keep global Net-Zero within reach, it is essential that rapid, substantial, and immediate mitigation efforts be undertaken across all sectors. The food and agriculture sector is no exception: There can be no Net-Zero emission worldwide without the corresponding Net-Zero achievement there. Against this background, mitigating actions in food and agriculture promoting policy objectives of sustainability such as food security and ecosystem resilience are more critical than ever.
Quite recently, technological solutions that enable food security, low-emission agriculture, and various other wins have become applicable in the Global South. Japan advances their deployment under “MIDORI ∞INFINITY” that incorporates private-sector vitality. This seminar showcases those technological solutions' potential for collaborative implementation in the Global South with the view to catalyzing international action in the food and agriculture sector under the new NDCs.
